CSG Law Welcomes Associates Erin E. Barrett and Matthew R. Parker
Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi (CSG Law) is pleased to announce the arrival of two associates – Erin E. Barrett and Matthew R. Parker. Erin joins the Litigation Group, and Matthew practices with the Surety & Fidelity and Litigation Groups.
Matthew was an associate at a New Jersey law firm prior to CSG Law, where he focused on commercial litigation, construction litigation, and professional liability matters. Matthew has experience in all phases of trial and appellate practice, with notable successes including securing a seven-figure settlement in a breach of warranty matter, obtaining a six-figure verdict affirmed by the Third Circuit, and prevailing on various dispositive motions.
Matthew serves as Secretary on the Board of Trustees for the Family Promise of Morris County, an organization dedicated to helping families avoid homelessness and housing insecurity. He also serves as Program Chair for the Insurance Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
Matthew earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where he competed in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition, the Homer Albers Prize Moot Court, and the Edward Stone Moot Court Competition, winning the Best Brief Award. He also served as Projects Editor for the American Journal of Law and Medicine, interned with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services, and was a recipient of BU School of Law’s Public Interest Project Grant. Matthew earned his B.A., in Political Science and History, from Muhlenberg College.
Before CSG Law, Erin was a litigation associate at an Am Law 100 firm in Manhattan and at a New Jersey regional law firm. She also served as a law clerk for both the Honorable Brian R. Martinotti in the U.S. District Court for District of New Jersey and for the Honorable Douglas M. Fasciale (now Associate Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court) in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
During law school, Erin held a variety of roles including: a legal intern at Quest Diagnostics; a student attorney with the Family Law Clinic; a senator in the Student Bar Association; and she was the Editor-in-Chief for the Seton Hall Legislative Journal, Vol. 43 and Associate Editor for Vol. 42.
Erin earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, and her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), in Finance, from Villanova University.
