Overview

When it comes to protecting the rights of children with special needs, it’s important to have an advocate who knows the law and understands how to achieve clients’ goals. CSG Law is dedicated to representing parents and guardians of children with disabilities in special education matters. Our approach combines strong legal advocacy with a deep understanding of the educational and emotional challenges families face when navigating special education systems.

CSG Law assists parents at every stage of the special education process including:

  • Advising families during initial referrals, evaluations and eligibility determinations;
  • Reviewing assessment reports and assisting parents in understanding classifications, services, and placement options;
  • Navigating the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and 504 plan processes;
  • Preparing parents for and attending IEP meetings with child study teams;
  • Negotiating settlements with school districts;
  • Working to secure appropriate goals, accommodations, related services and supports tailored to each child’s individual needs; and
  • Representing children with special needs at due process hearings and throughout any litigation.

When disputes cannot be resolved informally, CSG Law provides experienced legal representation in special education litigation. We represent parents in mediation, resolution sessions, and due process hearings, and we pursue remedies such as compensatory education, independent educational evaluations, appropriate placements, and systemic corrections. CSG Law also advises families on discipline and manifestation determinations, extended school year services, transitions between schools or districts, and planning for post-secondary education and adulthood.

Throughout every matter, CSG Law prioritizes clarity, responsiveness, and partnership with parents, empowering families to advocate confidently while we protect their children’s educational rights.
