CSG Law’s Dennis Toft and John Valeri Named to ROI-NJ Influencers: Environment 2024

Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (“CSG Law”) is pleased to announce that Dennis M. Toft, and John Valeri, Chairs of CSG Law’s Environmental Law Group, were recently named to ROI-NJ’s Influencers list for the Environment. This is the second annual ROI-NJ Influencers: Environmental list and, last year, Dennis led the inaugural rank.

Dennis, a renowned lawyer with a keen understanding of science and environmental litigation, is regarded as one of New Jersey’s leading Brownfields redevelopment practitioners.

“Toft is as impactful and influential now as he has ever been — a go-to source for environmentalists, government officials and business leaders,” said ROI-NJ in last year’s announcement.

Regularly appearing before the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (“NJDEP”), the Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, municipal land use boards and the Office of Administrative Law, Dennis was instrumental in the development and adoption of the New Jersey Brownfields and Contaminated Site Remediation Act and the New Jersey Site Remediation Reform Act.

With Dennis’ educational background in physics and John’s in chemical engineering, these ROI-NJ Influencers bring a sense of credibility and trustworthiness, in addition to their many years of policy practice.

John has more than 30 years of experience providing advice regarding state and federal environmental laws and regulations, including obtaining permits and approvals involving multiple environmental media for complex projects. John advises public utilities regarding a variety of regulatory programs, including wetlands and flood hazard areas before the NJDEP. He also appears before the NJBPU to obtain approvals to construct natural gas transmission lines.

Dennis and John not only strive to leave a greater impact on the environment in their day job, but also serve beyond to promote further changes to save the planet.

Dennis serves on the Executive Board of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, chairs the Chamber’s Environment and Energy Initiative, is a Trustee of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, on the Board of the NJ Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, and is Pro Bono counsel for the Friends of the NJ School of Conservation. John is involved in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Energy Bar Association, the NJDEP Clean Air Council, Member and Past-Chair, the New Jersey Utilities Association and the Alliance for Action. CSG Law is proud to have such influencers on their team.
