Jennifer Porter Named to 2024 NJBIZ Leading Women in Business

Jennifer Porter, Practice Group Leader of the Redevelopment, Land Use & Zoning Group of Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (“CSG Law”), has been named to NJBIZ’s Leading Women in Business list. Formerly known as the NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business, the list has grown this year and now recognizes 60 women who have made a significant impact on business and their communities in New Jersey.

Jennifer joins a number of CSG Law attorneys recognized by NJBIZ on this listing including Susan Reach Winters (2007), Catherine Wells (2009), Michelle Schaap (2011), Rhonda Carniol (2012), Dorit Kressel (2013), Roxanna Hammett (2015), Gemma Giantomasi (2019), Danielle Corcione (2020), Lisa John-Basta (2021) and Patricia K. Costello (2022).

Jennifer practices zoning and land use development across four states (New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut), establishing her as a key player in helping clients expand into the regional real estate marketing. Jennifer represents clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to developers, owners and lessees of commercial, retail, industrial and residential properties.

Jennifer regularly appears before and interacts with planning boards, zoning boards of appeal, boards of adjustment, and governing bodies in tri-state area municipalities. She was primarily responsible for the preparation, negotiation, and execution of master utility agreements with more than 20 utility companies in New Jersey and New York governing utility work that was required in connection with one of the interstate bridge projects. Jennifer has a unique perspective on how zoning and building code violations are prosecuted, due to her prior experience as a municipal prosecutor in several municipalities in New York.
