Judge Alberto Rivas Named 2026 Judge of the Year by Hispanic National Bar Association
Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (CSG Law) is pleased to announce that the Honorable Alberto Rivas was recognized by the Hispanic National Bar Association’s (HNBA) Judicial Division as the Judge of the Year for 2026.
Judge Rivas was commended by the HNBA for his years of service to their Moot Court Competition where he “embodie[s] what it means to pay it forward.” He has been committed to the competition for three decades and has remained invested in developing future legal leaders through modeling excellence, humility, and service. Judge Rivas’ enduring leadership has led the HNBA’s moot court program to be one of the top competitions in the country.

Judge Rivas is a former New Jersey Superior Court Judge, appointed by Governor Jon Corzione in 2010. He spent his judicial tenure in the civil, family law and criminal divisions of Middlesex County, including a period as presiding judge of the criminal division and as assignment judge of Middlesex County. He is currently Of Counsel in CSG Law’s Alternative Dispute Resolution, Litigation and White-Collar Defense & Investigation groups. He focuses his practice on resolving high-stakes and high-profile litigation matters.
