Lisa M. Colone Appointed Chair of NJSBA Securities Law Committee
Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (CSG Law) is pleased to announce that Lisa M. Colone, Chair of the firm’s Securities Enforcement Group, was appointed Chair of the Securities Law Committee for the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) for the 2025-2026 term.
The mission of the NJSBA’s Securities Law Special Committee includes pursuing matters affecting businesses, public companies, broker-dealers, and the investing public in New Jersey. The committee pursues excellence in the practice of securities litigation through cooperative efforts with federal and state law enforcement officials, encourages positive developments in the law, and engages in educating the bar and the public.
Lisa Colone and Christopher Kelly chair CSG Law’s Securities Enforcement Group. Their experienced team provides counsel and defense to broker-dealers, investment advisers, hedge funds, clearing firms, public and private companies, and corporate officers, directors, executives, and other individuals in regulatory examinations, investigations, disciplinary actions, arbitrations, and litigation.
Prior to joining CSG Law, Lisa held several roles with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Department of Enforcement, including Chief Counsel and Vice President. As a former FINRA Enforcement leader, Lisa has deep insights into FINRA’s priorities and practices, as well as those of other self-regulatory organizations, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and state securities regulators and attorneys general.
Before FINRA, Lisa served in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, including as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division. In that role, she supervised the prosecutions emanating from the Office’s Economic Crimes Unit and the Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Unit, including prosecutions of complex cases related to securities fraud, bank fraud, insider trading, market manipulation, mail and wire fraud, and tax fraud, among many others.
