TRTCLE: The Interplay Between Trademark Law and Rights of Publicity
On November 22, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, Abigail J. Remore, Practice Group Leader of the CSG Law Trademarks & Copyrights Team, will speak at TRTCLE’s program, “The Interplay Between Trademark Law and Rights of Publicity.”
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has recently initiated an interim NIL policy that allows college athletes to personally benefit from the commercial use of their names, images, or likenesses. This recent decision has affected clients and the interplay between publicity and trademark law.
Ms. Remore will analyze the basics of trademark and right of publicity law in the U.S., analyze the interplay between trademark and right of publicity law in the U.S., and review seminal and recent decisions and legal developments in both trademark and right of publicity law in the U.S.
